A New York truck driver died in a massive pileup on Interstate 80 in rural western Pennsylvania.
Joga Singh, 36, of Queens, New York, died in his tractor-trailer early Tuesday morning, March 19. At least eight other people were injured in the collision that occurred on the Emlenton Bridge.
More than 20 vehicles, including at least 10 tractor-trailers, were involved in the incident that occurred at about 12:30 a.m. at mile marker 44 in the westbound lanes of I-80.
“The confined nature of the crash (between the high concrete barriers of the bridge) along with the overall size and severity of this incident made it particularly challenging,” said the Emlenton Fire Department on its Facebook page.
Pennsylvania State Police continue their investigation.
The Emlenton Bridge spans the Allegheny River and is the highest road bridge in Pennsylvania. It is 1,668 feet long.
Emlenton is located about 55 miles east of Youngstown, Ohio.

Maybe if the Troopers were watching the traffic and slowing the speeds this would have been avoidable. The complete lack of presence of troopers nationwide is the main cause for these horrific accidents.
