Legal experts have warned there is very little possibility Donald Trump will stand trial in any of his four criminal cases before the general election.
The assertion was aired by three separate lawyers Sunday, hours before an Atlanta DA is set to provided the first details of her sprawling anti-racketeering case against former president, as well as 18 other codefendants including his ex-chief of staff.
Among those to discuss the slim chance of Trump standing trial in that case – or others in New York, Florida, and Washington, DC, for that matter – was Harvard Law’s Alan Dershowitz, one of the foremost voices on US constitutional law.Continue watchingIdalia could be strongest storm to hit the Florida bend for a centuryafter the ad
In multiple interviews this week, he said state and federal officials’ strategy in filing those cases stems from a desire to get a quick trial that would hurt Trump’s chances – even if the charges don’t stick or are reversed by an appeal.
Dershowitz’s comments – which included claims the politician has been purposely indicted in jurisdictions that are predominantly against him – were echoed by several others, who all said its unlikely Trump will face the music in time.
