The suspect in the slaying of Catholic Bishop David O’Connell claimed the LA clergyman owed him money and acted “irrational” around the time of the shocking murder, according to authorities.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna alleged in a Monday press conference that 61-year-old handyman Carlos Medina shot and killed the bishop inside his Hacienda Heights home Saturday.
Medina remains in jail in lieu of a $2 million bail, according to Sheriff’s records.
The handyman was arrested by authorities after he originally refused to leave his Torrance home earlier Monday, Luna said. A tipster told authorities that Medina left Los Angeles County after the killing, but a community member contacted th
