Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints gets new bishop

OROVILLE — Kevin Robertson is now serving as the new bishop of the Oroville First Ward congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

The congregation includes church members in the southern areas of Oroville, Palermo and Honcut, according to a press release.

Robertson’s new responsibilities include caring for those in need and encouraging congregation members to live the gospel of Jesus Christ by serving their families and communities.

Robertson is an architect with Nichols, Melburg & Rossetto.  He and his wife, Elizabeth, have five children.  He will be assisted by counselors Brian Cherry and Mark Allred.  Cherry is a mechanical engineer for Pacific Coast Producers.  He and his wife, Alia, have four children.  Allred works as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Adventist Health.  He and his wife, Jill, have four children.

Oroville First Ward meets Sundays at 11:30 a.m. at the meetinghouse at 2390 Monte Vista Ave. Everyone is welcome to attend.
