My Grandmother Nelly McGinley along with my Father and my Uncle rase me up till the Time I got Married.

She knew that me and dad went to see the double feature every sat and Sunday. She was conserved and felt that movie was a sin. She had been out in oak with other settler and she would tell me great stories.

One of here favorites was she got bit by a scorpion and the cowboys held her down and pour wicket down her thought. She said “Buth that movie you and bill go to don’t show you the real cowboy on Saturday night when they got drunk and started to whoop it up they fought and fought and drank and fought even more.

I hope to find a picture of her if I have any Grint in me it came from her and dad.

another store she told many times was when we live on six and mass ave nw I was on the porch about four yr old d I had hard candy in my mouth I fell and sucked it down my thought she said he pick me up but I was not breathing,you were blue in the face as blue could get. She loved him very much, She now was a widower, because of her love to her late husband she never got married again.

Looking back Earn was her favorite, he was a sickly child and as an adult, he would women lead him around like a calf. He was mentally my uncle learn to write jewis weak, but Dletnad was the one she talked about the most.

Dad walked to school and had a red hot controllable temper. most kids walked if they could not afford a horse. Dad would get mad at a couple of boys, he would leave school quickly. then on the road that the kids would take he would clime a tree over the road. Ehen those evil kids would walked under the tree that hung over the road. Dad would dropdown on the boys and beat the stufflen out of them,

At four My grandmother put me into kindgarden. I only remember the head teacher mrs donnecot.

Tough Love

I Dad, and ever male member of the familial smoked, i see them light up and asked for a smoke. I would only take a puff and thought it down.

Finially i asked dad for a smoke and he tole me these thing cost money, if i give you one you will smoked it!

He wond’nt let me put it out until i turned blue and red in the face. You know his thought love may be the reason i am here today. I don’t smoke cigarettes a and very few cigars. Thanks dad for saving my life

Dad Wade And Me

She would not let Dad buy her one with an electric ringer, she was afraid that she might get her arm caught in the ringefr so she got a Washington machine with a manual ringer. Ill see if I can find one on google

Off to kindgarding

Day turned and starting for the back door, bu grandmother grabbed him by his shirt tale he drug her for a few feet till the preacher got his attention, We all prayed, when he left I thought that Dad would be mad, not so he pick me up gave me a kiss and a big hug.

Dad actually only spank me several times, and it would make him mad because I would not cry,Grandmother probably three or four times usually with a switch.

We moved from eight eleven sixth st to forty new your ave n.e. Washington d.c. It was a three-floor rowe home in an italiton neighborhood. we had fig trees in the yard, a two car grade. no room tp play the property was commercial, dag paid ten thousand and five hundred for it.

Because of the hunger and hard times dad had during the great it was at depression his mission in life was to make sure I never experience hunger, all I had to say ” Dad I am getting hungry” it would seem like all four wheel would come on soon we were a the little taver and dad would by me six little ones they cost ten cent each he would get two of the big ones they cost fifteen cent each

Our neberhood was changing and dad and my grandmother reg me in a catholic school. because I was not a catholic my feed was forty a semester catholic were on twenty.
