Voters in California, New Jersey, South Dakota, Iowa, Mississippi, Montana, and New Mexico are selecting their GOP and Democrat nominees in several primaries on Tuesday as the signs of a red wave continue to brew off both coasts.

The mostly western states voting on Tuesday have several battles on the line, as Golden State voters in particular select nominees in many competitive primaries – and the first Republican who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump, in his second impeachment, is standing for reelection and will have to face the voters again. The fate of Rep. David Valadao (R-CA), who has a primary challenger, as well as the fates of several other establishment-aligned Republicans in California as well as in other states like Mississippi and South Dakota, will be decided Tuesday. The mayor’s race in Los Angeles is also interesting and could signal an even further leftward lurch of the Democrat party.

In other places, like New Jersey and Iowa, voters will select GOP nominees to take on vulnerable incumbent Democrats like Rep. Cindy Axne (D-IA) in Iowa’s third district and Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-NJ) in New Jersey’s seventh district.

In South Dakota, GOP Gov. Kristi Noem looks to make her reelection effort official as she aims to become the GOP nominee again in Tuesday’s primary election.

Trump, meanwhile, again has many endorsements on the line across several of these states – and should fare a lot better than he did a couple of weeks ago in Georgia. Many of Trump’s picks are doing much better in these states, and after the establishment media whipped out their obituary pens for Trump’s political power, many may have to begin reconsidering that narrative starting on Tuesday and continuing through June into July and August.

The polls close at 8 p.m. ET in New Jersey and Mississippi, 9 p.m. ET in Iowa, New Mexico, and South Dakota, 10 p.m. ET in Montana, and at 11 p.m. ET in California.

UPDATE 1:33 a.m. ET:

Another Trump endorsement wins in California:

BREAKING: Republican Tom McClintock advances to November general election in California’s 5th Congressional District. #APRaceCall at 10:11 p.m. PDT. https://t.co/2nlgpji7ac

— AP Politics (@AP_Politics) June 8, 2022

The only two Trump picks outstanding from tonight so far are Jay Obernolte in California’s 23rd district–he currently leads there–and Ryan Zinke in Montana’s first district. Zinke currently has a little more than a thousand vote lead with just over 60 percent reporting there.

UPDATE 12:50 a.m. ET:

In the Los Angeles mayor’s race, it appears that both Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA) and real estate developer Rick Caruso will be advancing to the general election in November. Caruso, while now saying he is a Democrat, previously had made donations to Republicans including Trump–something Bass, a far left radical Democrat, bashed him over during the primary. This could be a very interesting race come November, with Bass’s radical record on the line and Caruso’s more moderate streak in play. In other words, Los Angeles–one of the nation’s biggest cities–could very well vote to reject leftism in November.

UPDATE 12:46 a.m. ET:

Nothing is official yet, but it really isn’t looking good for establishment Rep. Michael Guest (R-MS) in Mississippi tonight:

https://platform.twitter.com/embed/Tweet.html?creatorScreenName=BreitbartNews&dnt=true&embedId=twitter-widget-1&features=eyJ0ZndfZXhwZXJpbWVudHNfY29va2llX2V4cGlyYXRpb24iOnsiYnVja2V0IjoxMjA5NjAwLCJ2ZXJzaW9uIjpudWxsfSwidGZ3X3JlZnNyY19zZXNzaW9uIjp7ImJ1Y2tldCI6Im9mZiIsInZlcnNpb24iOm51bGx9LCJ0Zndfc2Vuc2l0aXZlX21lZGlhX2ludGVyc3RpdGlhbF8xMzk2MyI6eyJidWNrZXQiOiJpbnRlcnN0aXRpYWwiLCJ2ZXJzaW9uIjpudWxsfSwidGZ3X3R3ZWV0X3Jlc3VsdF9taWdyYXRpb25fMTM5NzkiOnsiYnVja2V0IjoidHdlZXRfcmVzdWx0IiwidmVyc2lvbiI6bnVsbH19&frame=false&hideCard=false&hideThread=false&id=1534391229378609153&lang=en&origin=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.breitbart.com%2Fpolitics%2F2022%2F06%2F07%2Felection-night-livewire-7-states-vote-red-wave-brews-off-both-coasts%2F&sessionId=8516a029d124d18040261d58c34c0357b32400d4&siteScreenName=BreitbartNews&theme=light&widgetsVersion=b45a03c79d4c1%3A1654150928467&width=550px

What I’ll be watching:

Does Cassidy have more cash? Where did/will it come from?

Related: Will Trump endorse?

Also related: Will the ghosts of the 2014 U.S. Senate runoff between late Sen. Thad Cochran and far-right upstart candidate Chris McDaniel reappear? pic.twitter.com/P139mbOmk5

— Adam Ganucheau (@GanucheauAdam) June 8, 2022

Guest’s work against Chris McDaniel’s primary challenge of the late Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) in 2014 may come back to haunt him now. He was a local prosecutor at the time and targeted supporters of McDaniel. Now, he voted to install the January 6 Committee in Washington, DC. All of this seems to be seriously costing him majorly now.

UPDATE 12:43 a.m. ET:

In Montana’s first district, Zinke has moved back in front by several hundred votes with 61 percent reporting.

UPDATE 12:39 a.m. ET:

Trump-backed Connie Conway also won the special election tonight in California to serve the remainder of the term of former Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA):

In the “old” #CA22, former Assemblywoman Connie Conway (R) wins the special election to fill the unexpired term of Rep. Devin Nunes (R). This district has been eliminated by redistricting.

— Dave Wasserman (@Redistrict) June 8, 2022

This district has been eliminated in redistricting, but it’s another win for Trump in California.

UPDATE 12:32 a.m. ET:

Republican Mark Meuser has advanced to the general election in November for U.S. Senate in California where he will face incumbent Democrat Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA):

UPDATE 12:27 a.m. ET:

With 59 percent reporting in Montana’s first district GOP primary according to the New York Times, Trump-backed former Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-MT)–a former cabinet secretary during the Trump administration–has slipped into second place and trails Al Olszewski by 11 votes. This race is way tighter than expected.

UPDATE 12:24 a.m. ET:

Several of Trump’s picks in California have advanced to the general election, including most notably House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy who Trump endorsed last week:

UPDATE 11:53 p.m. ET:

San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin is in trouble, as a ballot measure to recall him appears to be performing strongly. With 45 percent reporting on that matter according to the New York Times, a strong majority of more than 61 percent so far support recalling Boudin while just less than 39 percent do not.

UPDATE 11:50 p.m. ET:

Republican Brian Dahle has advanced to the general election in the governor’s race in California:

Dahle will face incumbent Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom in November. Newsom just fought back a recall election last year, and had a strong showing on Tuesday so this will be tough for the GOP to mount a winning campaign.

UPDATE 11:48 p.m. ET:

With the first returns coming in in the Los Angeles mayor’s race, real estate developer Rick Caruso leads Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA) by a little over 2 percent–or just over 5,000 votes–but with only 13 percent reporting it’s still anyone’s guess who wins this one.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) has advanced to the general election:

UPDATE 11:39 p.m. ET:

UPDATE 11:35 p.m. ET:

Apparently that shift in Mississippi was a “reporting error”:

It appears a reporting error in Rankin Co. was just corrected, and it was a big error. As a result, Michael Cassidy (R) is back on top of Rep. Michael Guest (R) 48%-47%. Once again, runoff likely in #MS03https://t.co/i3TfbR26AD

— Dave Wasserman (@Redistrict) June 8, 2022

Bad break for the establishment though, as the challenger Michael Cassidy is back on top and a likely runoff looms depending on the final votes getting tallied.

UPDATE 11:22 p.m. ET:

With 82 percent reporting in Mississippi’s third district GOP primary, Rep. Michael Guest (R-MS) has slipped back under 50 percent and back into second place with just 46.6 percent. Challenger Michael Cassidy has retaken the lead with 47.8 percent now, according to the New York Times. This one is wild. It could be headed to a runoff, where Cassidy would probably be the odds-on favorite given how much his over-performance has shocked the political world.

UPDATE 11:17 p.m. ET:

Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom has advanced to the November general election:

It remains to be seen who he will face, but right now the leading GOP vote-getter is Republican Brian Dahle–who is in second place in the open primary per the New York Times with 11 percent reporting so far.

UPDATE 11:14 p.m. ET:

The first votes are coming in now in California. In the third congressional district, Trump-backed Kevin Kiley is the leading Republican so far with 14 percent reporting. California’s primaries are open, so all candidates of all primaries are dumped together and the top two regardless of party advance to the general election in November.

At the top of the ticket, in the governor’s race open primary, incumbent Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom–who survived a recall election last year–is dominating so far in the very early returns.

UPDATE 11:09 p.m. ET:

In Iowa, since Reps. Ashley Hinson (R-IA) and Randy Feenstra (R-IA as well as GOP Gov. Kim Reynolds all won their primaries–which were uncontested–along with Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Trump adds four more wins there to his record and goes perfect in another state with his endorsement.

Trump has really bounced back this week after a rough ending to May. He has a lot more on the line next week, too, though, so that could get interesting.

UPDATE 11:02 p.m. ET:

Polls just closed in California.

Also, several other race calls: Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT) won in the new district in Montana:

But in Montana’s other congressional district–the new one thanks to redistricting–a barnburner race is shaping up. Former Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-MT)–who later served as Trump’s Interior Secretary–is only a few hundred votes ahead of his challenger. This race is tighter than expected and could be close.

Wow: with a monster vote haul in his Rankin Co. home base, #MS03 Rep. Michael Guest (R) surges into a 51%-44% lead over Michael Cassidy (R). But with a quarter of the expected vote still out, a runoff still not out of the question.

UPDATE 10:57 p.m. ET:

A huge shift just happened in the GOP primary in Mississippi’s third district: With 76 percent reporting now according to the New York Times, Rep. Michael Guest (R-MS)–the incumbent establishment candidate–just retook the lead. He now has 51.2 percent compared to challenger Michael Cassidy’s 43.7 percent. If Guest can hang on with that margin, he would avoid a runoff. To do so, he needs to stay above 50 percent.

UPDATE 10:42 p.m. ET:

Republican Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ)–who switched parties because of Democrat impeachment shenanigans against then-President Donald Trump–has won his primary:

This is very bad news for the Democrats, and a sign the GOP is getting stronger going into November. If Axne loses, so too probably does House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

UPDATE 10:23 p.m. ET:

For more on Zach Nunn’s background, listen to and read this interview he did with Breitbart News late last year.

“We have a track record of success, we’ve been able to raise money, but most importantly, we’re fighting for those kinds of key principles that, you know — Donald Trump talked about — standing up to countries like China, being able to be hard on folks who just want to cave to the woke left,” Nunn said in it.

Franken will face off against incumbent Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) in November. Grassley is the odds-on favorite to win in a deeply reddened Iowa, a state that’s been trending rightward in recent years.

UPDATE 10:12 p.m. ET:

With more than 50 percent–53 percent according to the New York Times–reporting in Mississippi’s third district GOP primary, the best hope for incumbent Rep. Michael Guest (R-MS) seems to be holding his primary challenger Michael Cassidy under 50 percent and advancing to a runoff.

Data trends that point to that are what many are looking for now:

https://platform.twitter.com/embed/Tweet.html?creatorScreenName=BreitbartNews&dnt=true&embedId=twitter-widget-26&features=eyJ0ZndfZXhwZXJpbWVudHNfY29va2llX2V4cGlyYXRpb24iOnsiYnVja2V0IjoxMjA5NjAwLCJ2ZXJzaW9uIjpudWxsfSwidGZ3X3JlZnNyY19zZXNzaW9uIjp7ImJ1Y2tldCI6Im9mZiIsInZlcnNpb24iOm51bGx9LCJ0Zndfc2Vuc2l0aXZlX21lZGlhX2ludGVyc3RpdGlhbF8xMzk2MyI6eyJidWNrZXQiOiJpbnRlcnN0aXRpYWwiLCJ2ZXJzaW9uIjpudWxsfSwidGZ3X3R3ZWV0X3Jlc3VsdF9taWdyYXRpb25fMTM5NzkiOnsiYnVja2V0IjoidHdlZXRfcmVzdWx0IiwidmVyc2lvbiI6bnVsbH19&frame=false&hideCard=false&hideThread=false&id=1534352349099175938&lang=en&origin=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.breitbart.com%2Fpolitics%2F2022%2F06%2F07%2Felection-night-livewire-7-states-vote-red-wave-brews-off-both-coasts%2F&sessionId=8516a029d124d18040261d58c34c0357b32400d4&siteScreenName=BreitbartNews&theme=light&widgetsVersion=b45a03c79d4c1%3A1654150928467&width=550px

A lifeline for incumbent Rep. Michael Guest (R) in #MS03: he’s winning Madison Co. in the Jackson suburbs 53%-43%. If that pattern holds, he’d have a better chance at forcing a runoff. But overall, looking good for pro-MAGA Michael Cassidy (R).

— Dave Wasserman (@Redistrict) June 8, 2022

Update: the largest suburban county, Rankin, just reported its first votes and Guest (R) wins them 60%-38%. If that pattern holds, a runoff would be very likely. #MS03

— Dave Wasserman (@Redistrict) June 8, 2022

UPDATE 10:02 p.m. ET:

Polls have now closed in Montana.

Down in Mississippi, with 47 percent reporting in the third district GOP primary, Michael Cassidy has increased his lead to nearly 4 full percent–he leads incumbent Rep. Michael Guest (R-MS) 48.8 percent to 45 percent. If Cassidy gets up above 50 percent, he could win without a runoff. This shocker definitely caught the political class off guard.

UPDATE 9:18 p.m. ET:

Vulnerable Democrat Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-NJ) has apparently parted ways with his campaign manager, a sign of potential serious trouble in paradise for Democrats:

Tom Malinowski’s and his campaign manager Stacy Cohen have parted ways, I’ve confirmed. Not sure what precipitated that.

UPDATE 9:15 p.m. ET:

In New Mexico’s GOP gubernatorial primary with just 2 percent reporting, Mark Ronchetti–a regular on Breitbart News radio on the Saturday program–is way out in front with more than 70 percent of the vote. Still early here, but he’s cruising.

UPDATE 9:14 p.m. ET:

The first votes are trickling in in Iowa, and as expected Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) is doing remarkably well. The Democrat Senate primary is close, but only a few votes are in there.

UPDATE 9:13 p.m. ET:

Others are beginning to pick up on the possibility that Rep. Michael Guest (R-MS) is in trouble:

Surprise: #MS03 Rep. Michael Guest (R), who voted for a Jan. 6 commission, trailing challenger Michael Cassidy (R) 48%-40% in early rural returns. Still nothing from Jackson suburbs, but a runoff here (or even a Guest loss) possible.

By the way, while it’s surprising to the political establishment, it’s not to regular readers of Breitbart News–this publication actually did a huge story on how the U.S. Navy under Democrat President Joe Biden was targeting him for his political views.

From Kristina Wong, the Pentagon correspondent here at Breitbart News, just a few weeks ago:

This was former President Donald Trump’s only endorsement in the state, so notch up another perfect state for Trump endorsements–and another win for the former president.

UPDATE 9:06 p.m. ET:

With 4 percent reporting in South Dakota’s GOP gubernatorial primary, incumbent Gov. Kristi Noem has taken a huge lead. She currently leads her primary challenger by more than 50 percent.

UPDATE 9:03 p.m. ET:

Don’t look now, but there’s a possible surprise brewing in Mississippi. Establishment Republican Rep. Michael Guest (R-MS), with 6 percent reporting according to the New York Times, is trailing his primary challenger Michael Cassidy by several percent. It’s still very early but could be something happening here.

UPDATE 9:01 p.m. ET:

The polls have now closed in Iowa, New Mexico, and South Dakota. Results are imminently expected in each state.

UPDATE 8:39 p.m. ET:

Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-NJ), the Democrat incumbent, has unsurprisingly won his primary:
