Elvis Presley is an interesting figure in American history. He had a great voice and an amazing  personality. He had many fans that loved and adored him. Some people consider him to be the  greatest recording artist of all time. Some people consider him to be the greatest entertainer  of all time. He died young, to the sorrow of many of his listeners, but his legend continues to  live on.

I will list a few facts about Elvis Presley that you might find interesting. His music, lyrics, and  especially dance moves were considered very controversial in the beginning of his career.  Some programs would film Elvis from the waist up only so you couldn’t see the moves he was  performing with his legs while he was singing. He was an actor as well as a singer, he starred in  31 films. He paid his manager, Colonel Tom Parker, 50% of every dollar that he made. His  manager was an illegal alien who would not let Elvis perform outside of North America. Some  people believe Tom is the reason for Elvis’ untimely death. He met his wife Priscilla while  serving in Germany during his service in the army. She was 14 years old at the time. He had

one daughter named Lisa Marie. He was a gun enthusiast. He once gave a gun to one of his  body guards and told him to go kill a man. He later changed his mind, to the relief of his body  guard. He once showed up at the White House unexpectedly to meet with President Richard  Nixon. He wanted to help stop the drug problems that were infiltrating American Culture and  sought a Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs badge. (Now called the Drug Enforcement  Administration or DEA) He received the badge. He also gifted the President with a gold colt 45  handgun. He loved to eat peanut butter and bacon. It was reported that he had a  photographic memory for every song that he heard. The last few years of his life he had  troubles with his eyes, and wore sunglasses during his performances. He was a 7th degree black  belt in karate. He holds music records to this day that still have not been broken. In 2015 an  Elvis cd was released and it went to #1 in the UK and around the world. Elvis won 3 Grammy  awards in his lifetime. All of the Grammy awards were for gospel music.
