From the decision team
State CFO Jimmy Patronis faces Gay Valimont, also the Democratic nominee in the 2024 general election, in this strongly Republican district. The panhandle-based seat has elected a Republican every year since 1994. It was previously held by former GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz, who resigned last year after President Donald Trump announced Gaetz as his pick for attorney general. Gaetz later withdrew.
