- Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that China must ensure Hong Kong is only ruled by “patriots”
- He made his comments while speaking to 2,300 delegates at Beijing’s Great Hall of the People, at the opening of the once-in-five-year Communist Party congress in Beijing
- He said China will support Hong Kong in integrating with the mainland
BEIJING, China: Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that China must ensure Hong Kong is only ruled by “patriots.”
He made his comments while speaking to 2,300 delegates at Beijing’s Great Hall of the People, at the opening of the once-in-five-year Communist Party congress in Beijing.
Stating that China will support Hong Kong in integrating with the mainland, Jinping said, “One country, two systems” is the best system for Hong Kong and must be adhered to.
