COVID-19: Voters Lose Trust in ‘Experts’

More than three years after “15 days to slow the spread” of COVID-19, most voters have less trust in government health experts – and in the news media, too
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 50% of Likely U.S. voters say the way the government handled the COVID-19 pandemic caused them to have less trust in public health officials. Thirty percent (30%) say the government’s pandemic response caused them to have more trust in public health officials, while 18% say it did not have much impact. The survey of 967 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on March 19-21, 2023 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research.
