DENVER, Colorado: Colorado authorities announced that searchers have found the body of a second snowmobiler killed in a mountain avalanche.

In a statement, the Grand County Sheriff’s Office said that with the help of dogs, crews probing the avalanche field with poles recovered the body of a 52-year-old Colorado man in the area of Corona Pass outside Winter Park on the weekend.

The man’s identity and cause of death will be released by the county coroner’s office “when appropriate,” the statement added.

Authorities added that the avalanche caused the death of another snowmobiler, who was found but could not be revived. The sheriff’s office said that victim was a 58-year-old local man.

According to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center, avalanche danger in the high country over the weekend was “considerable,” or midway up a five-tier scale from “low” to “extreme.”

Winter Park is a popular skiing destination west of the state capital, Denver.
