US Ambassador to Japan says China coercing Japan, Philippines

  • This week, Rahm Emanuel, U.S. Ambassador to Japan, said China constantly coerces and pressures other countries, including Japan and the Philippines
  • He said this before a summit between U.S. President Joe Biden, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr
  • Yamada Shigeo, Japan’s ambassador to the U.S., also said that Biden and Kishida will discuss cooperation in space, energy, and emerging technologies, such as AI and quantum computing

WASHINGTON, D.C.: This week, Rahm Emanuel, U.S. Ambassador to Japan, said China constantly coerces and pressures other countries, including Japan and the Philippines.

He made this comment during an event at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington days before a summit between U.S. President Joe Biden, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Yamada Shigeo, Japan’s ambassador to the U.S., also said that Biden and Kishida will discuss cooperation in space, energy, and emerging technologies, such as AI and quantum computing.
